" GRAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" I scream before shoving my face into a pillow. This alerts my morail, or it would if he was home, which is why I'm in such a bad mood. You see, Cronus and I moved in together after he asked if we could be morails. Stupid me jumps at the opportunity to become closer to my crush, only to instantly regret it.

He doesn't spend time with me at all now. We used to just sit around talking nonsense for hours, as I would listen to his enchanting accent. He would have such a heart throbbing, yet gentle, smile whenever I mess up his gorgeous, slick black hair. Haha, or the way his nose would crinkle when I...... GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH, these damn memories aren't helping!!!!!!

I grab my phone and call the ' Lord of Romance' Karkat.

" What the hell do you want asshat?"

" What do you think?"

" *sigh* Fine you can come over, but you owe me."

" Alright, I'll bring my copy of the newest romcom... but I need your advice first so don't get ahead of yourself." After some grumbles, he hangs up.

Within the last few years, I have turned to Karkat for advice, which luckily he has a sweet side under all of that grumpiness. Anyways, he helps me with my problems with Cronus. The reason why he's always gone is because he goes around hitting on lots of girls, whether trolls, humans, or most of all Meenah... yet never me. Now I have seen his gentle and caring side, but it seems pointless since his feelings towards me never exceed pale. No dumb pick up lines, cheesy compliments, or even a brush of blushresting on his perfect face. I just wish for a little sign of red... and... and... gaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh this is so irritating!!!!!!!

After my little rant, I soon arrive at Karkat's hive and knock on his door, hoping his brother Knakri doesn't open it first. Judging by the string of profanity I soon hear, I know it's him. " You're lucky Terezi isn't here today, or I would've said fuck it."

" Hello Karkat, nice to always know you care." He moves to the side so I can enter. As usual, I sit on the couch, and he is at the other end.

" So what is it this time: human, troll, or Meenah?" That question makes me cringe everytime. GRR, why does Cronus have to be such a flirt?

" Human, and he has been gone for hours. Imean, what if he thinks that he likes that human girl more than me? What if he finds a new matesprit and morail, completely abandoning me, and-"

" Calmthe fuck down nooksniffer. We both know he won't abandon you. Also, for whatever the reason may be of why it never reaches your poor excuse of a human thinkpan,you need to tell him how you feel for gog fucking sakes."

" I know, thanks dor the comfort Mr. Sunshine. And how many times must I tell you-" Suddenly my phone goes off, " Oh fuck it's Cronus! What do I do?!"

" Answer it of course." Before I can refuse, he presses the answer button and absconds... dick move Karkles...

" H-Hello?" Fuck, why did I stutter?

" Vwhere the hell are you [name]?! I came home and you vweren't here. You alvways leave a note, so vwhen I couldn't find one, I started flipping out! Are you ok?"

I sigh, glancing at Karkat, who is urging me to continue, " Sorry about that Cronus. I'm at Karkat's hive right now." Karkat facepalms. " Umm, do you need anything else, I'll be home soon to make dinner?"

" Oh I see...." Is that disappointment in his voice... smooth move dipshit... " Umm I think I'll head over to Meenah's. I'll probably be a vwhile so don't wait up on me."

Karkat glares at me, causing me to let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. "Cronus... c-could you please wait for me to get home first, I need to tell you something?" He remains silent for a moment. " Pvwease?"

" Ugh wvery vwell. Don't keep me vwaiting [name]." Ha, works everytime.

I hang up and wave goodbye. Since Karkat's hive isn't too far from where I live, I make it back home real soon. I walk in, immediately spotting Cronus chilling on the couch. He doesn't seem to notice me however... ok I know I need to confess already, but I hardly get to have any fun with him now.

I quietly close the door, sneak up behind him, and... GLOMP!!!! " GAH, vwhat the hell?!"

" Sorry not sorry! You're never home now so I couldn't help myself."

" Vwell if that's it then I'm going to head out."

" Wait." He stops and glances at me, his violet eyes burning intensely. " I-I have to ask you something..."

" Vwell vwhat is it mermaid?" Ah, that word brings back memories. Back when we were just kids, way before our morailigence, I always called him Neptune, the king of the sea... or future king. He was flushed for Meenah even way back then, which at the time didn't bother me much. His face would turn a bold violet, ' Vwell then that makes you my mermaid! Every king needs his right hand man... or girl.' Haha, it somehow made sense at the time, but niw its nothing more than a childish memory.

I smile, having heard that nickname again, causing him to finally have his signature smirk plastered on his face, " Why won't you flirt with me?" I whispered, mostly to myself.... wait..... YOU IDIOT!!!!! WHY COULDN'T YOU CHICKEN OUT LIKE YOU ALWAYS DO.....FFFUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKK!!!!!!!

He rubs his neck nervously, " Vwell, its cause you're my morail." I frown, jeart shattering a little bit.

" Oh well we've only been morails for five years.... so what about the other ten, back when I was just another fish in the sea?" He avoids my gaze, silence now filling the room. Please dear mouth of mine....SHUT UP!

My eyes start to water a bit, " Vwhy do you suddenly care about it?" He notices the tears that start running down my cheeks. " Besides, just because I vwon't flirt vwith ya, doesn't mean there is something vwrong vwith you." B-But Cronus.....

" I ALWAYS CARED!" He jumps at my sudden outburst. I just can't hold it anymore. " I-I feel like no matter what I say or do, I won't even be worth something to you! It hurts watching my flushcrush flirt with everyone but me! Am I just some worthless human girl?! Why can't I just for once have some sign of red from you?! Gah, it would just be easier for the both of us if we didn't have any of this bs.... or..... or this stupid morailigence!!!" I instantly cover my mouth, as waterfalls are bursting out of my eyes.... but I didn't know regret until after what he says.......

" Vwell then I agree, this is a stupid morailligence."

Do you know the sound of a heart that suddenly combusts into flames after falling into a million pieces.... neither do I, but I know how it feels like. All I could think about was to apologize, beg for forgiveness, or whatever the fuck I need to do to get him to take that back.... just act like today never happened... Sadly all I can muster out is a bunch of muffles and sobs.

I shut my eyes tight, wishing that this was just some nightmare... ( Cronus reaches for you, but after a moment's hesitation, pulls back) Finally, as if to break the silence, Cronus speaks up, " I don't mind being morails vwith any fish really." Dammit, dammit, dammit! " Novw as a matesprit, I only vwant, ummm...." Please shut up... I can't take it any- My body stiffens at the warmth of his breath on me. His voice is now brought down to a whisper, as if any sudden loud noises will scare me (also tickling my skin in the process. " I vwant a mermaid."

My eyes blast open as his salt water lips meet mine. Soon my [ecolor] eyes close as I melt into this dream. I wrap my arms around his neck as he pulls me closer by the waist. As this sweet bliss deepens, we soon break in need of stupid oxygen. " So [name]..." He blushes an adorable violet, " Since vwe're not morails anymore... do you vwant to be matesprits?"

I give a bog, yet gentle smile, " Vwell of course my dear Neptune." He smirks again, pulling back into hours of makeout sessions.

EXTENDED ENDING; KARKAT'S POV

I watch as Kankri returns home. " Bout time. Did you tell him what I told you?"

" My apologies little brother, Cronus asked for my assitance yet again, but cancled instead. Although I did tell Cronus to call her a 'mermaid' for whatever the reason, I still find it highly triggering to lie to him. Anyways, if you don't mind me asking, do you really think your plan worked?"

" As long as you did what you're supposed to do, then yes. Right about now they should be making out or something."

[insert long speech on how triggering assumptions can be, which transitions to a rant about how cussing, interupting, and shouting is highly triggering... I wish you luck Karkat]
