Mess Up: Ritsu x Reader

    It's been a year since I met Ritsu Sohma, and what a hectic year it was. At first I didn't even know that he was a guy ( the awkwardness).  After a few days of random outbursts from Ritsu, we eventually started to get along much better. Now its weird to go anywhere (with the exception of work) without Ritsu. He is such a sweetheart. He always helps me go shopping despite how bad he handles crowds... and groceries. " I'M SO SORRY! TO THINK THAT I WOULD BREAK THE EGGS WE ONLY JUST BOUGHT MOMENTS AGO! I'M SO CARELESS! I APOLOGIZE TO THE WORLD! I'M SO SORRY FOR MY CARELESSNESS!"

" Ritsu..."

" HOW COULD I HAVE DONE SUCH A THING! I BEG FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS! I'M SO SORRY [NAME]!"

" Ritsu..."

" I'M SO SORRY!"

I hug Ritsu, soon finding a small monkey in my arms, " Ritsu its fine, I'll just go back and buy some more. So how about you go back inside and try to relax. I'll be back soon." Ritsu hesitantly nods. " Okay, now where's your key so I can let you into your apartment?" Ritsu starts to panic again. *sigh*

I let go of Ritsu and grab his clothes, take out the spare key I always keep with me, and slammed the door shut the second Ritsu changed back. I cover my face, trying to calm myself as my cheeks burn. After I put away my groceries, I head back to the store.

RITSU'S POV

    Once dressed, I leave my apartment to apologize once again to [name]. She's always so nice to me despite how many times I break her plates... and rip her curtains... and mess up the meals she cooks for the two of us (since we're neighbors)...

I'M SUCH A DISPICABLE HUMAN BEING TO DO SUCH A THING TO SOMEONE SO KIND AND BEAUTIFUL!!! I'M SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    After I calm myself, I finally notice she already left to buy more eggs... which I broke... I shake my head, a new idea coming to mind. I hope I don't mess this up.

TIMESKIP TO [NAME'S] POV

    I finally return with a fresh carton of eggs. As I'm about to unlock the door to my apartment, I here the sound of glass breaking. Carefully, I go back to my car, grab my bat (don't ask any questions), and slowly open the door. I couldn't believe my eyes at first. There are several broken plates, food all over the kitchen, a broken leg causing the table to tilt, the curtains ripped off the rod, and smoke lingering in the room. I glance at a hectic Ritsu, who has yet to notice my presence, trying to clean up the broken pieces of the plates. " Wait Ritsu!" I drop the eggs and dash over to Ritsu, who ended up hearing me a bit too late, and cut his hand. " Are you ok?! Let me see your hand!" The cut is a bit deep, but Ritsu remains silent. " Come on let's go to your apartment, there's still a lot of smoke in here, but no worries, it'll air out eventually." As we head out, I grab the first aid kit (which is obviously left out for easy/quick access).

    Once in his apartment, I imediately pull out all the materials I need and start treating his hand. He winces slightly, but is determined to maintain his silence. As I wrap the bandage around his hand, he finally speaks, voice barely above a whisper, " I'm very sorry."

" It's fine, I just wished I could've stopped you before you tried to pick up the glass."

" ...."

" Are you okay? You've been quiet since I've came home?"

" Why aren't you mad?"

" Hmm, why should I be mad?"

" CAUSE YOU'RE HOME IS A DISASTER BECAUSE OF ME! I'M SO SORRY! I'M A DESPICABLE HUMAN BEING! I APOLOGIZE FOR THE PLATES, THE CURTAINS, AND THE KITCHEN! I'M NOTHING BUT A FAILURE! I'M-"

" THAT'S ENOUGH!" Ritsu is caught off guard, never have I ever raised my voice at him. He looks down, tears pricking the ends of his eyes. " Don't ever say that about yourself! I'll forgive you for whatever you do, but if you ever downgrade yourself like that again, I will never forgive you."

" I-I'm sorry..." A few tears slide down his face, but it's obvious he's trying his best not to cry.

I wipe away one of his tears, causing him to look up at me. " Its okay, just don't do it again. I care about you a lot, so don't ever forget that."

He rests his head on my shoulder, being careful to not hug me. " I'm sorry. I mess up a lot, but you're always so nice. I don't deserve this kindness."

I stroke his hair, being cautious as well, " You're the sweet one. You always try to help, even back when we were just strangers. Because of you, there is never a dull day." I lift his head and plant a gentle kiss on his forehead. " And besides, so what if you mess up sometimes, I'll always love you."

We separate ourselves, backs facing each other. Oh god I can't believe I just said that!!! My heart is pounding in my chest, and my face is probably bright red!!!
